My name is Manny Valencia. I am an electronics engineer by profession. I graduated in University of Santo Tomas in 1984 with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering.
My passion for making video started way back in 1983 when my Dad bought a Sony Betamax Camcorder. The very first all in-one-video camcorder available to consumer. In no time, I started making home movies complete with music, cut-only editing, and titles using a Commodore 64 computer. My passion grew into wedding videos, birthday parties, and funerals (I have to start somewhere didn't I?). My sister started marketing my video production services to our small town of Abukay, Bataan, Philippines.
I migrated to America in 1985 with my family and first work in a satellite tv receiver company in Sunnyvale, California. My next video venture didn't mature into business until sometime in 1995. My work experience in Silicon Graphics Inc. really inspired me with digital video, computer generated images and professional video gears. For 6 years in Silicon Graphics, I've been exposed to high end film making and video broadcasting.
With my brother, Ed, we started a formal business in the city of San Jose making wedding videos and alike. Armed with an 8-mm Sony video camcorder, and a video toaster, we produced several wedding videos, travel videos, TV commercials, and some corporate videos to companies like the City of San Jose, and Silicon Graphics Inc.
Today, I have expanded tremendously in all digital video. At every opportunity, I take into consideration in using the latest video technology using hardware and software. I concentrate on industrial and commercial works. Occasionally, I do film style wedding videos to maintain my personal artistic creations . I like most the story telling and documentary style videos that hopefully revolutionizes the personal video industry.
Of course, all of this started because I am a leading edge artist. I love working for perfection. I take pride of my work. I live to innovate.
My love of music takes me into producing local concert and music videos, while my marketing abilities inspires me to show off my talent on TV commercials and infomercials.
My other hobbies include ultralight trike flying, and playing guitars and drums. My favorite guru is Anthony Robbins, he inspires me all along to keep me on track of my goals in life. In music, I've been influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Troy Stetina, and Steve Vai. I also play the drums to keep me synchronous in every way. Figure it out. My life is full of moving colors and melodic riffs and phrases.
Above all, GOD created me. His teachings shaped me up for what I am now. And I am inspired by my family, parents, wife, kids, brothers and sisters, and friends.
I just love my life!
I try to set aside a time to relax and re-invent myself. When I do, I find myself doing the following things;
I found these newsletter from my friend at work. It really is the basics of the Catholic faith and many of it I say and practice but many of us doesn't quite understand what it means. These pages were derived from the printed copy of Growing In Faith newsletter (http://www.growinginfaith.com).
